A little more info
Join Kennedy Chinyere and Denise Rowe for a dive into Shona culture through the songs and proverbs of the mbira tradition of rural Zimbabwe.
For thousands of generations mbira music has been played ceremonially to connect people with the land, their ancestors and each other, so that lives can be lived in a good and sustainable way. In 2019 Kennedy and Denise set up the Trees of Hope project in rural Zimbabwe to support this vital way of living to continue, and to empower local communities to create positive change for future generations.
This evening Kennedy and Denise will share songs and culture from this rich tradition , and speak more about the Trees of Hope project (www.treesofhopezim.com)
This event can be taken alone or as a lead in to River of Mbira which is offered for donations to raise money for the Trees of Hope project (www.earthdances.co.uk/river-of-mbira)
